I really thought I was going to love my Smithey pan, and I kind of wanted to because it looks great and it’s not exactly cheap. But after just a few months of normal use, the finish started flaking, and now it already looks more worn out than some of my older, way less expensive pans. Maybe I expected too much, I don’t know, but for the price I really thought it would hold up better. It’s just disappointing because I was excited about it, and now every time I use it I’m kind of annoyed by how beat up it looks already.

I was disappointed with the craftsmanship on this pan. It looked nice when I first took it out, but the edges on mine felt rough, and there was an uneven spot in the finish right out of the box.

For the price, I really expected it to feel more carefully made. It cooks okay, but small flaws like that make it feel a bit rushed. It was not quite what I was hoping for

When my order arrived, the box was banged up and there was barely any padding inside. The pan was just sliding around loose, which surprised me. For what I paid, I expected it to be packed with a lot more care.

I ordered a pan from smithey.com it just didn’t feel as sturdy as I expected. After only a few uses, it started looking rough, and not in that nice broken-in way. For what they charge, I’d put that on them — the quality should’ve been better. Maybe I got a bad one, but I’m not really tempted to buy another

Customer service was okay overall. They did help me out, so I can’t really complain too much, but it felt kind of slow getting there. Maybe it only seemed slower because I was already waiting, if that makes sense. Not bad, just not super quick.

I don’t know if it was something I did or just the pan, but after a few weeks the seasoning started flaking off. Kind of disappointing because I thought it was fine at first.

I do like this pan, it works well and looks really nice in the kitchen. But... the price feels a little high for what you actually get.

I can’t say I didn’t try to like the stuff on Smithey, but the design just isn’t for me. Everything feels a little too old-fashioned and kind of heavy-looking, and the bronze and darker colors don’t really match my kitchen at all. I know some people love that classic vibe, and it doesn’t look cheap or nothing, but to me it feels more like something you’d display than use every day. Just not a fan.

I really wanted to love this Smithey skillet, but it’s been a little frustrating. Mine gets way hotter in the middle than around the edges, so things like eggs and pancakes come out uneven. The seasoning hasn’t held up as well as my cheaper cast iron either. It’s a beautiful pan, just not one I reach for much.

I was hoping this would hold heat a little better, but it seems to cool down quickly for me. Maybe I’m expecting too much, but I feel like it should stay warm longer than it does

I’ve been using this pan for a little while now, and it cooks really well. I don’t have any complaints about how the food turns out. The only thing that’s been a bit annoying for me is the weight. It feels heavy when I’m trying to move it around the stove or wash it in the sink, so it’s not the easiest pan to handle. Overall, it’s a nice pan, just heavier than I expected.

I was making dinner after a long day, just trying to get something quick on the table, and the hot spots were really annoying. Some parts of the food cooked way faster than others, so I ended up with a mix of overdone and undercooked bites. Not exactly what I was hoping for.

I really wanted to like this, but cleaning it has been way more annoying than I expected. Food seems to stick no matter what I do, and even when I follow the care instructions, I still end up scrubbing forever. Maybe I’m missing something, but... it just feels like too much hassle for something I use regularly.

My order did get here, and at first I was annoyed because the shipping took longer than I expected and the tracking barely updated. But the pan was packed well and arrived fine, so I guess it wasn’t bad exactly, just slower than I would’ve liked.
